Are you unsure of how to begin your review for the Multistate Performance Test (MPT) portion of the bar exam? The most common mistake that students make is to leave their review of the MPT until the month before the exam. They don’t take the MPT seriously because they don’t ever have the realization that it is worth a lot of your score – the equivalent of 70 multiple-choice questions to be exact!
If you start early, you will be able to identify any issues that you struggle with, e.g., organization and timing, and adjust your strategy so that you will be confident with your approach on exam day! Below is an MPT study schedule, which gives a brief overview of the tasks you may encounter as well as specific MPTs that test your ability to complete a specific task. Do your best to complete these MPTs based on the schedule provided.

Where can I find Multistate Performance Test Practice Questions?
in Bar ExamWhere can I find Multistate Performance Test Practice Questions?
In Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) jurisdictions, the Multistate Performance Test (MPT) component of the bar exam comprises twenty percent (20%) of the exam. Non-UBE jurisdictions that administer the MPT set their own policies to determine the weight of the MPT in relation to the overall score. Multistate performance test practice questions are key to doing well on the bar exam!
Thus far, 40 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau and Virgin Islands, administer the MPT as part of their bar exam, with California and Pennsylvania administering their own version of a performance test. The MPT consists of a significant portion of the overall score in UBE jurisdictions. Thus, we recommend spending time developing a plan and practicing your responses to the items. The best way to do this is by doing and reviewing past practice tests.

in Bar ExamFailing the Bar Exam: 5 Important Things to Remember & Lessons Learned – by Someone Who Failed the Bar Exam
Note to reader: The author of this guest post failed the bar exam. The author shares their five most important lessons learned from failing the bar exam:
There are either two outcomes for students who take the bar exam. They will either pass or fail it. If you happen to have failed the bar I hope you realize that this particular failure will not destroy you. Failure matures you. Failure has the ability to shatter hope. However, failure can also help an individual to re-piece his or her identity. By embracing failure, and accepting it as a part of life, one can became lighter, stronger, and wiser. When we fail, especially at something we tried exceptionally hard to achieve, it feels like a small death. However, this small death can give rise to new growth and new life. Thus, we must learn from our failures in order to grow.
