What To Do The Night Before The California Bar Exam
What To Do The Night Before The California Bar Exam
Students often find that they don’t know what to do the night before the California Bar Exam! With no more studying to do, practice questions to tackle, or essays to prepare, many students feel a sense of panic. It’s understandable. For two months you have adhered to a rigorous California Bar Exam study schedule. Suddenly, you’re left with the realization that your bar prep schedule didn’t include the night before the California Bar Exam. We provide some guidance about how to spend your time below!
What To Do The Night Before The California Bar Exam
1. Logistical Preparation
Your nerves and anxiety will probably wake you up on the first morning of the California Bar Exam. If they don’t, your alarm probably will. Right? You remembered to set your alarm, RIGHT? Handling the logistical concerns that come with taking the California Bar Exam is a great way to spend your night. In a sense, you want to make the morning of the California Bar Exam as easy on yourself as possible. To do this, make sure you take care of things like having your laptop charged and ready to go. You also want to make sure you’ve prepared your approved bar exam items (including a mask or two) in bar exam-approved vessel. Take some time to figure out how you want to handle breakfast.
If you’re driving to a physical testing site make sure you know where to park and what route to take. If you haven’t prepared a lunch for the exam, take care of that the night before the California Bar Exam. The last thing that you want to run into is some logistical issue that will only distract and frazzle you.
2. Avoid Studying
If something hasn’t clicked by the time the California Bar Exam rolls around, it’s probably not going to click the night before the exam. Avoid the urge to review a concept or test yourself the night before the California Bar Exam. Panic studying can lead to an increase in stress, decreased levels of confidence, and unnecessary anxiety. If you find that you cannot step away from your study materials, run through some MBE questions you’re already familiar with to boost your confidence before exam day.
3. Chill Out
It may sound counterintuitive but relaxing the night before the California Bar Exam will benefit you in the long run. Your brain is tired from the constant studying, preparation, and stress that comes along with bar prep. It needs time to recharge, de-stress, and focus on something more enjoyable than bar prep. Take the night before the California Bar Exam to engage in something you enjoy. What you do is completely up to you. Watch some Netflix, play video games, exercise, or eat a relaxing (and nutritious) dinner. All of these activities can assist you in keeping your mind clear so you walk into the bar exam feeling well-rested and confident!
