Week Before the LSAT Tips
Week Before the LSAT Tips
It’s the week before the LSAT. The test is only a few days away! It’s no wonder many people find this to be the most stressful week of preparation. Don’t let test anxiety ruin a perfectly good week of preparation. Here’s what we recommend you do the week before the LSAT to make sure you are fully prepared for test day!
1. If you haven’t done it so far, take a full LSAT under timed conditions.
If you frequent this blog, you’ll know how strongly we recommend taking timed LSAT sections and full tests during your prep. So, if you haven’t done this yet, now is the perfect time. Much like running a race, you won’t perform your best if you have not practiced in at least the vicinity of the race distance. The same holds true for the LSAT. If you’ve only taken 2 or 3 timed practice sections in a row, you won’t be prepared to take six timed sections on test day! Make sure you at least experience a full, timed test the week before the LSAT.
2. Focus only on problem areas.
Normally, I advise to mix up your review every day, hitting on at least two different types of problems. However, this close to exam day, if you find you are still struggling with a certain type of question, focus on it! You aren’t going to lose your edge on the types of problems you’re good at in a few days. So, if a certain type of question still gives you trouble, really work to nail it down before test day. The week before the LSAT is a great time to fine tune your studying and make sure you are firing on all cylinders. 3. Make sure you are ready for test day.
I’ve previously written about the best things to do before LSAT test day. During your free time this week, make sure that you are prepared for test day. If you are taking the LSAT at a site you are not familiar with, take a trip to scope it out. This can really help relieve exam stress on test day. If you are staying in a hotel, double-check to make sure your room is still reserved. Most importantly, check your LSAC.org account and review their test day guidelines once again. Make sure you have an up-to-date I.D., entrance ticket, and acceptable watch to time yourself. Use the week before the LSAT to make sure your test day goes as smoothly as possible.
