1. JD Advising’s MPRE Cheat Sheet

One of the best free MPRE resources is our MPRE cheat sheet, which can be downloaded by following this link. This three page document breaks down how often certain aspects of law appear on the MPRE, and gives a general overview of the law to help guide your study. While it is not a substitute for really diving into the material, it can help you frame the material and focus your study on highly tested areas of law. It is also a perfect last-minute review tool to help you make sure you’ve hit everything you need to.

We should mention that this cheat sheet is NOT a substitute for intensively studying MPRE material. Rather, it is a guide to let you know the most frequently tested topics. However, you should be prepared for any topic to appear, even if the likelihood is low it will be tested.

2. JD Advising’s Free MPRE Questions Source Blog Post

Many MPRE courses include free MPRE questions in the material. However, if you have not committed to a course yet, or plan on studying on your own, free practice questions can be hard to come by. Luckily, another one of our free MPRE resources is JD Advising’s Free MPRE Questions blog post. In it, we point you to the best online resources for free MPRE practice questions. It also points out reasonably price source of paid MPRE questions through the NCBE and other companies, should you wish to purchase additional questions.

3. NCBE Released Sample Questions

The National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) also has a 15 question sample MPRE test available for free via their website. Since the NCBE write MPRE questions, this is a great source for a set of free questions to help you gauge your progress. As mentioned previously, you can also purchase two sets of MPRE questions from the NCBE for a moderate price (around $40 per set). These two sets of questions will closely resemble the actual MPRE in terms of form and content, and is a great source of questions, albeit not completely free.

4. JD Advising’s Key Words And Phrases on the MPRE Blog Post

The last of our free MPRE resources is our Key Words and Phrases on the MPRE blog post. In this post, we give our best tips on spotting key words and phrases in MPRE questions. We give you advice on how to spot those key words and phrases quickly. Then, we break down where these phrases should guide you. Many students, using the methods described in our post, raised their MPRE scores substantially. Indeed, if you do not understand what the question is asking, even if you know the law you will not answer it correctly.
