MBE Percentiles for July 2018

Here, we tell you what your MBE score means if you took the bar exam in July 2018. You may wonder exactly how you did on the MBE in comparison to others. Knowing your MBE percentile is a valuable source of information.  This chart, released by the state of Illinois after the July 2018 bar exam, will tell you your approximate MBE percentile.

MBE Percentiles for July 2018

Your MBE score is listed on the left of the diagram. You can check your MBE percentile by looking at the column immediately to the right. For example, if you scored a 105 on the MBE, you only scored in the first percentile, which means you scored higher than one percent of examinees taking the MBE. (In other words, you have some work to do on the MBE if you did not get a passing score in your state!). If you scored a 160, you were in the 88th percentile, which means you scored higher than 88 percent of examinees taking the MBE. Good job!

Note: These are all “converted” MBE scores. So they do not reflect your raw score out of 175 questions. (Raw score data is not released by the National Conference of Bar Examiners.)
