Looking for MPT Help?: The MPT is the most over-looked part of the bar exam. The crazy part is that working on the MPT is one of the easiest ways to improve your score! (Don’t believe us? Read these five reasons to take the MPT seriously.) We offer many options to those looking for MPT help.
Looking for MPT Help?
1. One-on-One Private Tutoring
One option that is very popular (and students tend to find significantly helpful), is our two-hour private tutoring session. Prior to this session your tutor will send you a MPT to complete. This MPT should be completed and sent back to the tutor at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled session, so that the tutor has time to grade it. The tutor will then send you the graded MPT and during the session the two of you can discuss the strengths and weaknesses of it. The tutor will give you constructive feedback so that you know how to improve your weaknesses.
Additionally, the tutor can show you an approach that will help you stay organized and timely for your remaining MPT practice and exam. This option costs $400. If you are local, you can meet the tutor in person. If you aren’t local, or find it more convenient, the tutor can meet you online or on the phone. After this session, the tutor can recommend whether or not you would benefit from additional sessions. Some students only need one. However, those that really struggle with MPTs need anywhere from 3-5 sessions.
2. Written Feedback
Another option we offer is our written feedback. With this option the tutor will assign one MPT for you to answer. If you have a specific type of MPT or even a specific question in mind, that is fine by us. If you don’t, we are happy to assign one. Next, you will answer the question under timed conditions on your own. Once you have completed the MPT you will send it back to the tutor. The tutor will then provide prompt feedback based on what they see. This feedback will touch on everything from format and structure, to things like substantive law and your analysis. The feedback is given in such a way that you will understand what you do well and the things that you need to improve on.
Lastly, the feedback will tell you HOW to improve on the issues that they see. Some people do this once and find that sufficient. Others students need do to this multiple times in order to get their MPTs up to “passing.” The cost of this option is $80.
3. Written Feedback + 30 Minute Phone Call
This option includes all of the above PLUS a thirty-minute phone call with your tutor to discuss your MPT. We highly encourage this option, as most students find that they are much more confident after being able to ask questions to the tutor. The cost of this option is $150.
