Breaking Down June 2017 LSAT Results
June 2017 LSAT results came out last night. After sifting through the data and thinking about the results, here are my thoughts overall on the exam.
Breaking Down June 2017 LSAT Results
1. Overall, an easier exam
Perhaps due to an easier Logic Games set (see #2), it took more points to get baseline scores for this test. For example, on the June 2016 LSAT, a 150 required a raw score of 54 or 55. On the June 2017 exam, a raw score of 55 or 56 was needed. This spread was true for most scores on the test. This exam was slightly easier than past exams, and the curve reflects that. However, it was not a huge departure from previous, recent exams.
2. The Logic Games section probably won’t be that kind next time.
The Logic Games section was a departure from recent tests. I do not think that LSAC will be as kind next administration with their games choice. Unless there is a significant shift in how LSAC looks to structure the Logic Games section, I’d expect a more challenging set next time.
3. If you did not score well, now’s your chance to improve!
The September 16, 2017 LSAT is two months away! If you are a college student who is not taking summer classes, this is the perfect time to buckle down and really review material before the fall semester starts. As I’ve stated previously, your scored LSAT, even if you scored poorly, is the best resource you have to improve. So, use your June 2017 LSAT results to identify your weaknesses and work on them!
4. If you need additional help, look now!
If you need additional help, seek out resources now. Any assistance you receive, whether it is from a book, prep course or a private tutor, is best sought our early, so you have time to make changes to your approach. The June 2017 LSAT results should be a wakeup call if you did not do well. Seek out extra help to make sure you score better next time.
