How Long is the MPRE?
You may wonder how long the MPRE is and how long you should expect to stay at the testing center. The MPRE itself is two hours. You will have that time to answer 60 questions, 50 of which are scored and 10 of which are unscored test questions.
How Long is the MPRE?
The exam starts at 8:30 AM in most jurisdictions but the starting time varies based on the number of examinees. Thus, you can reasonably expect to spend 3-4 hours at the testing center, assuming you arrive a little early. (We recommend you arrive early as late examinees are not admitted!)
Make sure to check the NCBE website for an updated list of items that you are permitted to bring and not permitted to bring. Some may surprise you (e.g., you are not permitted to bring scratch paper, handbags, digital or electronic watches or timers, mechanical pencils, food or beverages, etc.). You are permitted to bring a valid ID, wallet, keys, non-mechanical pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener, unwrapped cough drop or hard candy, tissues, hygiene products, etc.
