February 2018 Colorado bar exam results have been released as of today, May 3, 2018. Colorado bar exam results revealed a passage rate of 51%. 167 examinees passed and 161 failed.
This Colorado bar exam passage rate is lower than past years. Last February, Colorado’s passage rate was 62%. And prior to that, the pass rate hovered between 69% and 77%.
This lower passage rate can be, in part, explained by the drop in the average MBE score. And, it looks like about 153 of the applicants were repeat takers, so this lower passage rate is not too surprising considering that repeat takers pass at a lower rate than first-time takers. (Usually a repeat-taker passage rate is about 33% and a first-time taker passage rate is higher.) Of those that did not pass the bar exam, 27 were attorney applicants and 134 were non-attorney applicants.
If you failed the Colorado bar exam, we know that it is a very difficult thing to go through, but you are definitely not alone! Check out this post on what to do next.
