To pass the examination in the first phase of grading an applicant must have a total scale score (after one reading) of at least 1440 out of 2000 possible points. Those with total scale scores after one reading below 1390 fail the examination. If the applicant’s total scale score is at least 1390 but less than 1440 after one reading, all of the applicant’s answers are read a second time by a different set of graders. If the applicant’s averaged total scale score after two readings is 1440 or higher, the applicant passes the examination. Applicants with no grading discrepancies of more than 10 raw points between first and second read grades on any question with averaged total scale scores of less than 1440 fail the examination. Applicants with grading discrepancies more than 10 raw points between first and second read grades on any question whose averaged total scale score is less than 1440 will have those answers referred to the Team member supervising the grading of that particular question for resolution of the discrepancy (Phase III). The Team member will assign a resolution grade to the answer and the resolution grade will replace the averaged grade for that question. If the applicant’s total scale score after resolution grading is 1440 or higher, that applicant passes the examination. If the applicant’s total scale score after resolution grading is less than 1440, the applicant fails the examination.

The regrading is “blind” in that the graders do not know what scores were assigned originally. Further, it is not disclosed to applicants or to the graders what the set score range is that prompts regrading. The range is set sufficiently wide, however, to encompass any applicant whose pass/fail status realistically could be changed by re-grading. Post-results appeals are not available and no exceptions are made to this policy. Further,  Applicants may not review their MEE, MPT or MBE answers. MBE answers are machine-scored by the National Conference of Bar Examiners. Applicants may request MBE score verification by making a written request to the Missouri examiners.

The examiners look to see if an answer might be worth another point or two, or if the overall quality of an applicant’s answers may adequately demonstrate minimum competence. I am so grateful to have taken the Premium UBE course . . . For the July 2022 UBE, I used [a commercial course] to study and while it gave the big picture overviews of the subjects, my exam score was only 266 (not enough to pass in NC which requires 270). I decided that I needed to really focus in and get a plan that would help me improve both multiple choice and essays. After taking the JD Advising UBE Premium Course, I passed the February 2023 exam with a UBE score of 307!!!! JD Advising helped me boost my overall score 41 points, which is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much again.

- February 2023 Uniform Bar Exam Passer, Increased Score 41 Points!

I usually don’t leave reviews BUT I cannot rave enough about JD Advising. This course came highly recommended by a friend, another repeat-taker. I passed the NYS Bar for the third time with 10 points over the passing score – the tears still stream down! Having studied with Bar Prep materials from other companies, the JD ADVISING UBE Course is PHENOMENAL!!!

- Christina C., July 2022 Uniform Bar Exam Course Student

I used JD Advising [tutoring] for my second attempt to pass the IL UBE bar exam and increased my score by 52 points! I went from being nervous and scared to the 95th percentile of all UBE takers. JD Advising helped me so much for my second attempt for the bar. Also, I was working full-time the second time I took the bar exam and they completely built the schedule around my available time and the amount of weeks I had to study. I can’t recommend their program enough. Compared to other big bar prep services, JD Advising is so much more personalized and they actually 100% care about you and your success on the bar exam. Thank you JD Advising! And thank you so much to my personal tutors who guided me through the whole process, Ninos and Lisa! You are both amazing!
