When are Michigan Bar Exam Results Posted Online?

If you are wondering when the February 2015 Michigan bar exam results will be released, please check out this post for an in-depth review of past February Michigan bar exam results release dates.

If you are the kind of person to neurotically check the Michigan Board of Law Examiner’s website from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM —  (first of all, join the club),  but second of all, note that the last couple announcements were made around 12:00 PM or 4:00 PM.

  • The July 2014 Michigan bar exam results were posted by seat number at around 11:58 AM.
  • The February 2014 Michigan bar exam results were posted by seat number at around 4:00 PM.

Prior to the February 2014 Michigan bar exam, results were not posted by seat number. Instead, the Michigan Board of Law Examiner’s would just update their site with an announcement that results had been mailed to applicants. We did not keep as close of track as when this announcement was made, but if my memory serves me right it was almost always made in the afternoon. The Michigan Board of Law Examiner’s has an incentive to not make announcements early in the morning….after all, the later the Board makes its announcement, the less time it has to deal with the myriad phone calls!

Note that approximately five days after the results are posted by seat number, the Michigan Board of Law Examiners will list the names of successful applicants (however, traditionally, this list of names has only contained those who have a passing bar exam score and character and fitness clearance).

Looking for something to do when you are waiting for Michigan bar exam results? We recommend that students read this note to those who pass the bar exam (as well as a description of swearing-in ceremonies in Michigan) and this note to those that fail the bar exam prior to getting results!  If you pass, it will help you plan a great celebration and great swearing-in ceremony (without annoying your friends who didn’t pass). If you fail, it will help prepare you for the next round.
