What to Do When You Leave the Bar Exam Testing Site
It’s Wednesday evening and you have finally finished the bar exam. It’s been a long two days (a long few months if we’re being honest) and you have no idea what to do now. In this post we give you our advice on what to do when you leave the bar exam testing site.
What to Do When You Leave the Bar Exam Testing Site
1. Forget about the bar
After everything is done and you leave the bar exam site, just put it all out of your mind. The exam is done, it’s over, and there is nothing you can do about it anymore! You could look up the answer to a tricky question, but is that really the best idea? If you find out you got it wrong, you can’t change your answer now. All you’ll end up doing is worrying about it. You’ve just survived one of the toughest challenges you’ll ever fact. It’s time to put it behind you and celebrate! Think about what you just accomplished and everything you went through to get here! Treat yourself by moving on, staying positive, and enjoying the present.
2. Go get a drink or two
While you might be mentally drained after completing the exam, you’ve certainly earned a reward. If you and your friends or fellow bar exam takers want to go get a drink after you leave the bar exam, do so! You have nothing to study for anymore, so there’s nothing to feel guilty about missing! And what better place to celebrate being done with the bar exam than at the bar!
However, make sure that you plan for safe transportation afterward. You’ve come this far, and you don’t want to mess up your future with any sort of incident. Perhaps it is worth it to book an extra night in your hotel so that you don’t have to worry about getting home. Then you could just call for transportation when you are ready to leave. But now is the time to let your hair down and celebrate being done with the bar exam!
3. Go home and sleep
While going out and celebrating might sound like a great idea ahead of time, you might feel completely different when you actually go to leave the bar exam. You’ve just been through a grueling ordeal, and the idea of doing anything other than going home and sleeping might sound completely unappealing to you. If you just want to sleep, then that is what you should do! Although we hope you tried to get a good amount of sleep before the bar exam, it is understandable that it might not have been of great quality. After so many months of studying, you are likely drained mentally and physically. Thus, it is perfectly acceptable to just go home and sleep when you leave the bar exam!
4. Keep not thinking about the bar!
It was mentioned above, but it really cannot be overstated: do not think about the bar exam! When it’s done, it’s done. You have a couple of months now where you don’t have to think of anything bar related. It is certainly a good idea to come up with a plan for both passing and failing, but you don’t need to think about that for a while (or maybe you’ve already done this before the bar!). Thus, when you leave the bar exam, you should put it out of your mind completely for at least a couple of months. You will do yourself no favors by continuously worrying about something you can’t control!
