What is JD Advising Doing About the Coronavirus?

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) worsens, JD Advising is taking every measure to keep its students, staff, and the public safe. See below for the steps JD Advising is taking:

Update as of 3/23/20: JD Advising is abiding by Michigan’s shelter in place order, which will be in effect until at least April 13. Any copies of physical products will be shipped once we receive clearance. Downloads are still instantly available.

What is JD Advising Doing About the Coronavirus?

1. Following appropriate guidelines

JD Advising is following the guidelines put out by Oakland County. We will continue to follow these guidelines and are staying aware of updates!

2. Online and remote work

JD Advising is practicing social distancing to limit the spread of Coronavirus. To be clear, there are no known cases of Coronavirus that have come through JD Advising’s office.

CLASSES/SEMINARS/TUTORING:

Many of our classes are already exclusively online (for example, all of our on demand courses and UBE courses).

We do have in-person Michigan classes which will proceed as planned (in person) unless the Oakland County guidelines change. We plan to know more on April 13th, 2020. Please continue to check back here for more updates, and we will communicate with all students already signed up for a course or seminar. In-person classes/seminars can easily switch to an online, live format. And if students who are in person prefer to switch to a live streaming format, JD Advising can easily offer that option. JD Advising has already set up the online course options for all programs. These online sessions offer the same option to ask questions and watch the lesson live, however, this will limit the spread of the Coronavirus.

Any students who have in-person tutoring scheduled have been communicated with about taking those sessions online. Students who are feeling ill or worry about future tutoring sessions can move their sessions online. Please contact info@jdadvising.com at your earliest convenience and we will get that set up for you!

MATERIAL RETURN:

Students who have to drop off their course materials have been emailed about this. Please email info@jdadvising.com if you have any further questions!

LAW SCHOOL TABLING/EVENTS:

All law school tabling and in-person events/speeches have been canceled. All events with the option to be held online have been moved to an online, live format.

STAFF:

Most JD Advising staff is working remotely. However, this does not change our availability as we are working normal business hours! All business travel has been canceled as well to reduce the chance of spreading the coronavirus.

3. Disinfecting

Hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes are located throughout JD Advising’s office. JD Advising is sanitizing all surfaces to stop the possible spread of the virus. Staff and students are encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly, in accordance with Oakland County’s guidelines. Everyone is encouraged to use good hygiene practices. Staff also cleaned the whole office with bleach before the shelter in place order was put into effect.
