What Does My LSAT Item Response Report Mean?

Now that your initial elation/shock over your LSAT score has passed, you might be taking a closer look at your LSAT Item Response Report. If it is confusing to you, here is how to break it down!

What Does My LSAT Item Response Report Mean?

1. LSAT Score Data

On your LSAT Item Response Report, you’ll see a section called the LSAT score data. This table shows your current score, and all your past scores on the LSAT. It also shows your LSAT scoreband. The LSAT scoreband is a range of scores that accounts for scoring errors on your test. So, if you score a 158, your scoreband might show a range of 155 to 161. This means that even if the machine scored your test incorrectly, you’d most likely still fall in this range of scores.

2. Question Response Data

The Question Response Data on your LSAT Item Response Report shows your test date, and how many questions you answered correctly (credited responses) and incorrectly (responses not credited). The responses not credited includes any question you did not answer. So, if you answered 25 questions incorrectly, and did not answer 10 more, your responses not credited would be 35. If you added your credited and not credited numbers together, they should equal 101, the number of questions on the test.

3. LSAT Question Responses

This section shows your answer, and the correct answer, to the questions on the LSAT. You can compare your answers to your actual answer sheet, which is also uploaded to your account. If there is a big discrepancy, contact LSAC immediately. You only have 60 days to report any errors to them!
