How To Find Free Bar Exam Study Materials
How To Find Free Bar Exam Study Materials
Not only is preparing for the bar exam difficult and time-consuming, but it’s also often expensive. If you’re preparing for the bar exam on a budget, you’ll want to try to find free bar exam study materials. We’ve created this how-to guide to help you get started!
How To Find Free Bar Exam Study Materials
1. Start Here
If you’re looking for free bar exam study materials, you’ve come to the right place. Check out our free resources page for free bar study guides, general bar exam advice, and more. Whether you’re wondering how to create a good bar study schedule or looking for tips on raising your essay score, we’re here to help. We regularly update our material, so keep checking for additional resources!
2. Use the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) and Your State Bar Website
A great place for more general resources is the NCBE website. In addition to having updated information about the exam itself, the site offers some released MBE questions, MEE questions, and MPT questions that you can use to practice your responses. By working with real questions (instead of those invented by test prep companies), you will become familiar with the actual style and format. Some state bar websites will also post free bar exam study materials on their websites, like former questions and model answers.
3. Check With Your Law School
Many law schools are working to improve their bar exam passage rates, so they offer some free or affordable bar prep materials to students. You can ask around among your classmates, or make an appointment with your school’s academic success personnel to learn about available resources. Even if you already graduated, don’t let that stop you from reaching out!
4. Ask Your Boss
Because employers want competent and qualified lawyers on their team, many will provide financial support to help you study for the bar exam. Some firms will pay for a full course, while others provide more limited support. Even if your boss doesn’t offer financial support, they may be able to adjust your schedule or give you time off to study.
5. Learn from YouTube Videos
In addition to the guides and other resources on our website, we also have a series of YouTube videos you can use to study for the bar exam. Check out our JD Advising YouTube page for hundreds of free videos on all aspects of the bar exam. We also offer webinars and a newsletter with free bar exam study materials.
