Four Reasons Why You Need An MPRE Course
Four Reasons Why You Need An MPRE Course
If you’re a law student, you’ve likely heard that most bar prep companies also offer Multistate Professional Responsibilities Examination (MPRE) prep (usually for free!). Perhaps you’re wondering whether you really need to sign up for an MPRE prep course. If you’re thinking about studying for this important exam completely on your own, think again. In this post, we cover four reasons why you need an MPRE prep course.
Four Reasons Why You Need An MPRE Course
1. Your Professional Responsibility Class Isn’t an MPRE Course
Every law student is required to take some kind of professional responsibility class, and that’s great! However, most of these classes are not geared specifically toward helping you pass the MPRE. They may focus on different material, cover a much wider range of topics, hone in on state-specific exceptions, and the final exam might consist largely of essays. An MPRE prep course, on the other hand, is entirely designed with the test in mind. Every single part of an MPER prep course, from the questions to the outlines, is tailored to help you pass! You won’t be overloaded with material that isn’t on the test, and you won’t need to worry about writing essays since the MPRE is all multiple-choice. This clarity and focus will be incredibly valuable as you figure out how and what to study to pass the MPRE.
2. MPRE Prep Courses Are Usually Free!
Do you need a better reason than this? Several Bar prep companies offer MPRE prep completely for free (including us!), so you can try out their materials. Other companies offer the MPRE prep only after you’ve signed up for their bar course. So, if you know which company you want to work with for bar review, why not sign up early and get the free MPRE materials? There’s virtually no disadvantage to trying something that’s completely free.
3. It Can Help You Decide Whether to Take The Bar Prep Course
Many bar exam prep companies (including us!) mirror their MPRE course after their bar exam course, so a free MPRE course can be a great way to test-run a full bar exam course if you’re not yet sure which bar prep you ultimately want to select. If you don’t like the MPRE course you’re taking, you’ll know that’s not the right bar prep company for you. Then, you can move on to another company’s free MPRE course and find the right fit. This will save you a ton of time and money later when you’re choosing (and paying for) your bar review.

4. You’ll Get A Recommended Study Schedule
If you’re the type who needs calendars and structure to stay on track, you’re in luck! Most MPRE courses give you a schedule, suggesting exactly what, when, and how long to study. This is so much easier than trying to make your own study schedule, especially since you’ll likely be balancing MPRE studying with regular coursework. Of course, no one’s making you follow any schedule that doesn’t work for you, but it can be really helpful to have that reassurance that you’re on track to pass!
So, hopefully, you’re on your way to signing up for an MPRE prep course!
