One-Hour Session: These sessions are perfect for focusing on one bar exam subject. In addition to the live, one-on-one session with an attorney expert, you will receive one subject–specific outline and one essay graded by your tutor on that subject. If you do not have any, we will cover the most highly tested and difficult topics for the subject(s) you are interested in discussing.
The price for the session, electronic outline, and the essay grading is $349.99. You can upgrade to hard copy outline for an additional $30.
Ten-Hour Overview Package: This level is best used for either Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) or Multistate Essay Exam (MEE)/state-specific essay focus. We recommend spending one hour with your tutor on each MBE subject, and using the remaining three sessions to focus on problem areas. In addition to the 10 hours of private one-on-one instruction from our attorney experts, you will receive all of JD Advising’s bar exam outlines for your jurisdiction* (both MBE and essay subjects), and essay feedback from your tutor on 10 essays.

July 2021 New Jersey UBE taker (verified owner) –
I would highly highly recommend Vanessa Neal and JD advising’s private tutoring sessions. I signed up for tutoring after I failed the February 2021 bar exam, which I only studied for using an online class. My tutor Vanessa was amazing. We of course went over the substance of the topics on the Bar Exam, multiple choice tactics, and essays, but Vanessa also figured out early on that one of my main issues was my confidence and how nervous I was. We really worked on that and I think it helped a LOT. I am so grateful because an online bar course would not have been able to identify that issue and help me with it.
There also were a few topics (like mortgages for example) that I just could not wrap my head around and because I had used an online class to study for February, I had no one I could ask about topics I struggled to understand. Vanessa was able to explain these concepts in a way I understood in about 15 minutes. For the July 2021 exam I raised my score by 15 points and passed very comfortably. I used so many tips and tricks that Vanessa gave me, especially on the essays, during the exam. I am confident that I would not have passed the July 2021 UBE without Vanessa’s help. I would definitely recommend signing up for tutoring sessions, they are absolutely worth it!

After failing the Tennessee bar exam three times, I decided to try JD Advising. BOY AM I GLAD I DID.
I would HIGHLY recommend Sydney Hanson as a tutor. From day one, she laid out a plan that allowed me to understand my path to success. Her knowledge of the law was unquestioned and any part she did not know immediately, she was able to access and clear topics up very quickly.
1. Support: I would say about 2/3 of my study issues were confidence in knowing the material. You aren’t going to learn it all, so having confidence that you are doing your best and trying to learn as much as you can is crucial. Sydney CONSISTENTLY encouraged me that I was doing well and that she felt good about where I was in my knowledge throughout our time. I took her words of encouragement all the way to my seat at the bar exam.
2. Outlines: The JD Advising outlines were helpful and the examples immensely helped me understand various legal concepts. I would say that the fill-in explanations need more depth. Often I would try to understand an example only to find that the explanation was overly broad and, in my opinion, insufficient to answer a bar exam question. Nevertheless, the outlines were easy to follow and broke the material down to simple, easy to understand terms. The cheat sheets are GREAT. I found that (per Sydney’s recommendation) reviewing the cheat sheets at night kept me sharp. It’s easy to put it off or not do it at all. However, failing to review at the end of the day, even if just for 30 minutes, could lead to missing practice questions, which leads to potential confusion/frustration that could easily have been avoided.
3. Study Time: JD Advising is different from Themis and Barbri in that your tutor does not go through all of the law in every topic. Rather, it is on YOU to read the outlines, make notes, try to learn the law, and prepare like you are going to class. Then, when you meet with your tutor, you can ask questions about topics which you found were more difficult to understand. This helped me a ton because when I did another program I would “wait” on the next lecture (passively learning). With JD Advising, you HAVE to engage and prepare, then you and your tutor dive deeper into concepts. Sydney did a GREAT job teaching me subtopics that were giving me trouble. My brain would not comprehend time, place, and manner in Con Law and Sydney went beyond the call of duty to make sure I understood it by the time we were done. She must have given me ten examples not in the outlines (lol), but I eventually understood it better. ****We also had an emergency hearsay session that took me from not understanding hearsay at all to having confidence that I could handle virtually ANY hearsay problem.****
3. Access: Sydney was very accessible and answered/handled every question/issue/freakout I had with a quiet confidence. She was a constructive and honest grader on the MEEs. Not a drill instructor, but thoroughly explained where I needed to write more or where I missed a topic in an understandable way. She NEVER ridiculed me or made me feel stupid and was very approachable.
NOTE: I coupled the JD Advising with AdaptiBar questions. I scored high enough to practice in virtually every UBE jurisdiction.
Overall, I would highly recommend JD Advising for those who can afford it. If you can, request Sydney because she is AWESOME!
Sincerely,
One of the 45% of takers who passed the February 2022 bar.

I would recommend Julia Zielger and JD Advising to any person taking the Bar in a UBE jurisdiction! She put together a study schedule that was tailored to my specific needs and really helped me fully understand concepts and build my confidence to take this exam for a second time and pass it! We worked on essays and multiple choice questions during our sessions together and had in-depth discussions over areas of law that I struggled to really grasp and understand. She was able to break down those harder topics in a way that was easy for me to follow, understand, and (most importantly) remember. I also really appreciated how she asked me to talk through my reasoning when answering questions when stuck between two answer choices. I’m so grateful to have used this program. My only regret is not using it the first time I studied for the Bar! If you want this to be your first and/or last time taking the Bar in your jxs then make the investment and use JD Advising and take advantage of having a tutor, like Julia, to help you pass!

I passed the NY Feb 2022 exam thanks to private tutoring with Doriel! I missed July 2021 by 7 points (259). I improved in Feb by 34 points (293)! My tutoring focused on the MEE/MPT and it paid off because I improved my writing score by 32 points. Doriel was incredibly supportive and thoughtful throughout the whole process. We created a custom schedule based on my performance in July and tailored it along the way. Doriel was very practical, focusing on the areas that would improve my score the most and not getting weighed down in other areas. Doriel’s essay feedback was incredible – he provided detailed, nuanced, and consistent feedback on every essay, in a timely manner. I also appreciate that Doriel provided the emotional support and encouragement that I needed after failing the first time. I was also impressed with JD Advising overall. The JD Advising team offered a thorough consultation before I signed up and always responded quickly to my questions along the way. Highly recommend Doriel and JD Advising!

I unfortunately did not pass the bar July 2021, so I knew I have to make a lot of changes. I signed up for JD Advising’s UBE course and I got a tutor through JD Advising. I was assigned Albert as my tutor and he was amazing! We came up with a schedule beforehand that kept me on track and he helped me through any problems I had with any subjects. Studying the second time was much easier for me with the help of JD Advising’s Qbank and other resources! I improved tremendously during my practice and I was better at essays than I gave myself credit for according to Albert.
Based on my practice scores I felt confident walking into the exam, and even increased my MBE from a 121 to a 146!
I thank Albert for all of his help with the MEE and providing me with great feedback that ultimately helped me passed the bar! I HIGHLY recommend JD Advising and their tutoring services (ALBERT) and will be telling everyone I know taking the bar!
