I took the bar in July with a go at your own pace online bar prep that I got from my law school for free. Not only did I not pass, but I was nearly 20 points away from passing in my state, with a score of 248. I decided to work with Albert from JD advising to study for the February Bar Exam and it ended up being the best decision of my life! With Albert’s help I passed the Bar Exam for every state and increased my score by 38 points, getting a 286. It’s not a surprise that I made a score increase by nearly 40 points because the studying plan Albert gave me was perfectly tailored for me. I would highly recommend Albert’s tutoring to anyone taking the exam, whether it be for the first time or the 5th time. The biggest differences with Albert and the generic go at your own pace online bar prep is that with Albert your study plan is specifically tailored for you and he holds you accountable to keep up with your studying. Albert helped me determine what subjects and specific topics I needed help with most on the bar and made sure we targeted those areas until I was comfortable with them. I am a serial bar exam taker, having sat the exam four times. My first three scores were 259, 260, and 261. I decided to use JD Advising’s UBE course and was assigned Doriel as my tutor. Our sessions were regular and timed around my work schedule. Doriel helped to identify my weaknesses and worked with me to amend them. He was also very meticulous in helping me through any of the problems that I had with specific subjects, particularly in complicated areas that require some visualization in order to fully understand. Furthermore, the feedback Doriel gave in response to my practice essays (both structurally and content-wise) was particularly useful in understanding not just what the examiner expects to see in an answer, but how the examiner expects to see the answer.
The aspect of the UBE course materials that I found most useful were the examples used in the outlines to explain why the law is as it is, including using examples from past exams (of which several reappeared in the exam). I found that understanding some of the background of why the law is as it is helped me to better recall the rules during the exam.
Overall, I passed the bar with a score of 278. I sincerely attribute this to the JD Advising UBE course and the feedback that Doriel gave me regarding the substance of the law and my test taking technique.

I took the Bar in July of 2021 after using a big box bar prep program, and I unfortunately did not pass. I knew I had to change how I studied for the Bar, and the program I used in July was not going to help me pass. It did not “click” for me. After reading reviews for JD Advising, I decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did! I passed February 2022 with flying colors. I attribute my passing to the help of my tutor, Sydney! She really helped me organize and strengthen the format of my MEE and MPT essays. She was also amazing at walking me through subjects that I did not understand very well, as well as going through multiple choice questions that went over those difficult topics. I also attribute my passing to the videos and the outlines. They are very well organized and broken down better than other bar prep programs I have used.
I am so thankful to have finally passed the Bar, and I would highly recommend JD Advising to anyone taking the Bar (especially those who are taking it more than once)!
