Taking a MacBook Pro to the Bar Exam? Think Twice!!!
The “Touch Bar” on newer MacBook Pros contextually displays content depending on the user’s action. State authorities are worried that this could lead students to cheat on the bar exam. ExamSoft, a leading exam software company that many bar exam users use, has not found a way to automatically disable the touch bar function. Thus, they’ve warned state board of law examiners about this new function. This warning led to several states banning the laptop.
Some states banned the new MacBook Pro completely. Other states, however, like North Carolina say that students can still use the MacBook Pro. However, the touch bar must be disabled.
