JD Advising Continues Work With Wayne State Law in 2018!

JD Advising is proud to announce that it will continue to work with Wayne State University Law School in 2018. Wayne State Law has elected to work with JD Advising for the last five bar exam administrations. During the course of the partnership, JD Advising’s Ashley Heidemann has spoken to thousands of students at various events, including first-year law school orientation, numerous speeches to Wayne State Law students, and bar exam takers.  We are proud to continue working with Wayne State Law through the February administration.

JD Advising Continues Work With Wayne State Law in 2018!

February 2018 Administration

During the February 2018 Administration, JD Advising will be providing a formal bar prep program to Wayne Law students. This program consists of JD Advising’s Michigan Bar Exam Seminar,  JD Advising’s Multistate Bar Exam Seminar, and also three six-question practice exams.  The schedule for the bar prep program is as follows:

  • January 6 – MBE strategies & speech – 10 AM
  • January 20 – WSU essay seminar – 10 AM – 1 PM
  • February 3 – Mock Essay Exam #1 – 10 AM – 12 PM
  • February 10 – Mock Essay Exam #2 – 10 AM – 12 PM
  • And February 17 – Mock Essay Exam #3 – 10 AM – 12 PM

All sessions are held in the Damon J Keith center.

Michigan Bar Exam Seminar

Students who partake in our Michigan Bar Exam Seminar receive an overview of the highly-tested areas of law as well as JD Advising’s predictions for which topics may be tested on the Michigan bar exam.  In the past, we’ve accurately predicted 1/3 to ½ of the topics on the Michigan bar exam essay portion. This past administration (July 2017), JD Advising’s Michigan Bar Exam seminar covered 11 of the 15 questions – or over 70% – of what was tested on the Michigan bar exam.

Multistate Bar Exam Seminar

Ms. Heidemann, who scored in the 99th percentile on the MBE, designed our MBE Seminar.  The goal of the seminar is to teach students strategies to apply when answering MBE questions. We believe that students should aim to improve their score through practice, rather than simply answering thousands of questions and never seeing their score improve. Instead of receiving substantive outlines, students receive a forty-page strategies booklet.

Mock Essays

These exams are composed of questions containing issues that are likely to appear on the upcoming Michigan bar exam. JD Advising will design, administer and grade the mock essay exams providing students with substantial feedback so they can improve their scores prior to the actual bar exam.
