Having a pre-test routine is a great way to reduce final exam anxiety. What do we mean by a pre-test routine? What you do leading up to the test, which if left to the last minute, can result in unnecessary anxiety. For example, having your bag packed, your outfit picked out, the breakfast situation handled, and the car filled with gas. While these steps may seem minuscule at first, you’d be surprised at the anxiety reduction they offer to test-takers. Making the process leading up to the final exam as smooth as possible is key. While nobody wants to perform poorly on a final exam, it’s not the end of the world if you do. Everybody struggles at some point in their academic career. At the end of the day, it’s just a test.
