JD Advising Elite Tutors!

To be a JD Advising Elite Tutor one must meet certain standards AND complete our rigorous and comprehensive training. To be considered as an Elite Tutor, one must graduate law school with a strong academic record, including at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, a high bar exam score, and proof of passing the bar exam on their first attempt. Because our standards are so high, JD Advising does not hire or even interview every candidate that possesses these impressive credentials.

We ensure our Elite Tutors are fully equipped to support students by providing them a comprehensive training program that includes:

Over 14 hours of mandatory training
Access to 100+ hours of course lectures
Extensive practice in providing effective written feedback
One-on-one meetings with a senior JD Advising supervisor throughout the Elite Tutor’s first bar exam administration
Required observation of a student’s tutoring session with a senior JD Advising supervisor prior to conducting a tutoring session
One-on-one meetings with a senior JD Advising supervisor before and after initial tutoring sessions

Meagan Jabbori, Esq.

Meagan Jabbori is a powerhouse in bar exam preparation and legal education. Scoring in the 96th percentile on the Uniform Bar Exam in February 2017, she quickly became one of the most sought-after bar exam tutors in the country. Since 2014, she has been an integral part of JD Advising, tutoring thousands of students and helping them achieve success.

Lisa Cline

Position: Bar Exam Course Instructor, Tutor

Lisa is an Attorney Content Creator, Coordinator, Course Instructor, and Tutor with JD Advising. Lisa received a BS in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MD from East Carolina University School of Medicine, and a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Lisa graduated from Mitchell Hamline summa cum laude and was first in her class. Lisa participated in three of Mitchell Hamline’s law journals and published two student notes, both of which are available on Westlaw. Lisa was Executive Editor of Mitchell Hamline’s Law Review Volume 45. While in law school, Lisa earned CALI awards in Contracts, Commercial Law, Advanced Civil Dispute Resolution, Advocacy, Professional Responsibility, and Transactions and Settlements. Lisa previously worked as a child advocacy attorney, representing the best interests of children in high-conflict custody and domestic violence cases.

Lisa scored 323 on the UBE and 163 on the MBE. Lisa is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Illinois. In her free time, Lisa enjoys running, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Ninos

Position: Bar Exam Course Instructor, Tutor

Notable Accomplishment: Helped a recent student improve their bar exam score by 52 points!

Bio: Ninos graduated from the George Washington University Law School in 2019 with highest honors (top 1%), while working full-time. He holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and currently works at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on the patents side of the agency.

He passed the Uniform Bar Exam for Washington, D.C., in July 2019 with a cumulative score of a 316. Additionally, he successfully passed the California Bar Exam in February 2020 while maintaining full-time employment at the USPTO. He is also admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Jordan

Position: Bar Exam Course Instructor, Tutor Experience: 3 bar exam administrations with JD Advising Notable Accomplishment: Jordan excelled at Harvard Law School.

Bio: Jordan graduated from Harvard Law School in 2021. While in law school, he served as a teaching fellow for the Negotiation Workshop. He also served as the Notes and Comments Editor for the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology, and was a research assistant for a professor where he explored public accommodations and their intersection with civil rights protections. As a law student, he completed over 1,000 hours of pro bono work. Upon graduating from law school, he clerked for the Chief Judge of the District of Rhode Island and subsequently on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He currently works for a government agency in their appellate section. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth.

In his free time, he enjoys running, baking, and spending time with family.

Andrew

Position: Tutor

Notable Accomplishment: Andrew excelled at New York University School of Law and graduated with honors.

Bio: Andrew graduated from NYU Law in 2018. Prior to law school, he worked as a math teacher through the Teach For America program. Today Andrew works in special education law as a public interest attorney in New York City, helping low-income families of students with disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education. He is passionate about access to justice issues as well as making education accessible to all. Andrew graduated from NYU as a Pro Bono Scholar, with cum laude honors, and participated in several of the law school’s clinics. When not working, Andrew loves running, cooking, reading, and most especially, spending time with his wife and daughter.

Doriel

Bio: Doriel is a licensed attorney in the state of New York. He graduated from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar. Vincent

Bio: Vince graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School. While in law school he received the William T. Kirby Award, which is given to the top first year law student in legal research and writing. He received CALI awards in Legal Writing I, Legal Writing II, Military Law, Constitutional Issues in the Military Justice System, and UN & Human Rights Supervision. Vince also served on the Notre Dame Law Review where his note, Judicial Autonomy v. Executive Authority: Which Prevails in the Case of a Postcommutation Collateral Attack?, was published. Since graduating, Vince has published three additional law review articles.

Vince enjoys helping law students and recent graduates break down complex problems in order to ensure they maximize success on test day.

Albert

Bio: Albert graduated magna cum laude in 2016 from Pace University Elisabeth Haub School of Law, where he served as a teaching assistant for first-year students, received dean’s list honors every semester, and had his student note published in the Pace Intellectual Property, Sports and Entertainment Law Forum.

Albert sat for and passed the Uniform Bar Exam in July 2016 with a cumulative score of 328. He is licensed to practice in New York and Connecticut, and in addition to tutoring for JD Advising, operates a small solo practice handling general litigation and intellectual property matters, with a focus on representing streamers and esports competitors on Twitch, YouTube, and beyond.

Laura

Bio: Laura is an attorney licensed to practice in New York and Tennessee. She graduated in 2017 from Duke University School of Law. Her 3L year she served as a teaching assistant for a course provided to international students enrolled in Duke Law’s LLM program. She also served on two journals and held leadership positions with the Duke Law Innocence Project and Duke Law’s Government and Public Service Society. She has been licensed to practice law in New York since 2018 and in Tennessee since 2019. Since graduating from law school, she has worked for organizations such as the U.S. Department of the Interior and the Tennessee Justice Center.

Laura currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee. She enjoys volunteering with community organizations including the local library foundation and animal shelter, and exploring nearby parks with her dogs Lizzie and Betty.

Chris

Bio: Christopher is an attorney based in Los Angeles, California. Chris graduated summa cum laude from Yale College and obtained his JD from Yale Law School. He was an editor of The Yale Law Journal. He is licensed to practice law in California and New York.

Chris previously served as a Skadden Fellow and as a Deputy Attorney General in the State of California Department of Justice. Chris previously clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Chris was also a Fulbright Research Scholar in the Philippines.

Daniel F.

Bio: Daniel is an attorney licensed in Texas and Oregon. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law and started his career at the Texas State Board of Pharmacy before moving to Oregon with his partner, Ben, and cat, Peaches. Daniel sat for the February 2021 UBE administered in Texas and passed with a cumulative score of 336. He is an avid cyclist, runner, and swimmer and he loves vegan junk food.

Amanda

Bio: Amanda is a licensed attorney in New York State. She graduated cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in 2017. Jonathan

Bio: Jonathan is an attorney licensed in the state of Michigan. He graduated from Wayne State University Law School, cum laude, where he was also the Editor in Chief of The Journal of Law in Society and a nationally ranked ABA moot court oralist. He prepared for and passed the July 2018 Michigan Bar Exam with a 90th percentile MBE score.

In addition to working with JD Advising, Jonathan serves as in-house legal counsel with the City of Detroit Office of the Corporation Counsel. His transactional practice focuses on real estate deals, zoning and land use matters, public space enhancements, and other economic development projects. Before joining the City, Jonathan was an associate at a large Michigan law firm, the executive director of a Detroit-based community development corporation, and a Teach for America-affiliated high school social studies teacher in the Detroit Public Schools.

Jonathan is a proud Detroiter, an avid runner, and is happiest with his wife and three children.

Julia

Bio: Julia received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota in 2018 in Law, the Media, and Human Rights. She earned her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2021 and is now a licensed attorney in Minnesota. While in law school, Julia worked three jobs, served on the editorial board of the Public Interest Law Review, co-founded the First-Generation Law Students Association, and served on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. She received CALI awards in Criminal Procedure and Advanced Trial Advocacy. Upon graduation, she received the Orell-Brown Award for Clinical Excellence in the Children’s Law Center, and the Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award.

Julia passed the UBE in July 2021 with a score of 319 while working as a judicial law clerk. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, sailing, and spending time with friends.

Adrienne

Bio: Adrienne is an attorney licensed in Rhode Island. She earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University and graduated magna cum laude from Suffolk University Law School. During her time in law school, Adrienne received jurisprudence awards in the study of Basic Federal Income Tax and Secured Transactions. She also received the Distinguished Brief award in her first-year legal writing course. Adrienne sat for the July 2022 UBE administration and earned a cumulative score of 336. She currently works at her family’s business, a small transactional law firm in Rhode Island.

Adrienne spends her free time volunteering at her local farm, discovering new restaurants, and hiking with her Golden Retriever, Tula.

Nicole

Position: Tutor

Bio: Nicole graduated first in her class in the part-time program at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in December of 2020. After graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Justice Richard Gabriel on the Colorado Supreme Court and then practiced immigration law and criminal defense. Nicole passed the February 2021 Uniform Bar Exam with a cumulative score of a 326.

Nicole is passionate about teaching. She taught English in Chile after college and she worked as a substitute teacher for Denver Public Schools while getting her JD. Before law school, Nicole got her Master of Arts in International Development and spent several years working in public health.

When she’s not tutoring, you can find Nicole cooing over her baby boy (born June of 2023), off traveling to new countries with her husband, or at home making a mess in her kitchen with her fat, orange tabby (and sous-chef), Catticus Finch.

Aimee

Bio: Aimee graduated with honors from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. While in law school, Aimee was an editor for the law review, on the executive board of the moot court association, and interned for federal and state judges. Aimee was also a teaching assistant for 1L Legal Research and Writing, and a Dean’s Fellow. Since graduating, Aimee has clerked for state trial court and appellate judges.

Aimee is licensed in Virginia and California. She is currently residing in Northern Virginia. In her free time, Aimee enjoys exploring Washington, D.C., spending time outdoors, and trying new recipes.

Erica

Position: Tutor

Bio: Erica is a licensed attorney in Missouri. She graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law in 2023. She was inducted into The Order of the Coif and the Justinian Honor Society. During law school, Erica worked as an Academic Success Fellow at SU Law, where she tutored first-year law students and upper-level students who were at risk of academic suspension. She also externed at the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office in Missouri. Erica served as the executive vice president of the Student Bar Association and held leadership roles in several student organizations. In law school, Erica particularly enjoyed her Criminal Law, Constitutional Criminal Procedure (Adjudicative and Investigative), Evidence, and Trial Advocacy classes.

Erica passed the Uniform Bar Exam in July 2023 with a score of 327. She now works as an associate attorney at a firm near St. Louis, Missouri. In her free time, Erica enjoys spending time with friends, family, husband, and cats.

Alexandra

Position: Tutor

Bio: Alexandra is a licensed attorney in Texas. She graduated cum laude and in the top 15% of her class from UNT Dallas College of Law in 2021. During law school, Alexandra worked as a research assistant on constitutional law topics, served as the chief reporter for the Law Review, publishing Accessible Law, was a member of the Board of Advocates, and served as chair of the Thompson & Knight Intramural Moot Court Competition. Alexandra also published several articles with Accessible Law while in law school, competed in moot court, and was a member of Phi Delta Phi honor society. Alexandra passed the Uniform Bar Examination in July 2021 with a score of 318. Upon graduating, Alexandra worked in commercial litigation before moving into civil rights litigation. In her free time, Alexandra enjoys live music, reading, and writing.

Maya

Bio: Maya is a licensed attorney in New York State. She graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2016. During law school, Maya worked as a research assistant for professors working on books on constitutional history and the electoral college, was an executive editor of the Harvard Law & Policy Review, and represented indigent defendants at show cause hearings. She was also a teaching assistant for Civil Procedure. Maya passed the Uniform Bar Exam in July 2016 with a score of 345. Upon graduating, Maya worked as a Skadden Fellow at Lawyers For Children and clerked for the Honorable Pamela K. Chen in the Eastern District of New York. Stephen

Bio: Stephen graduated in the top 3% of his class at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He was also selected for the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Stephen received the Scholastic Excellence Award for the highest grade in the course each semester in Advanced Topics in Constitutional Law, Torts, and Legal Profession. He also received the Wilson Hurt Oral Argument Award for best oral argument in his 1L Lawyering Process class. Stephen served as an Associate Editor on the Denver Law Review and obtained a specialization certificate in Constitutional Rights and Remedies. He interned for state and federal judges during law school and is currently clerking for a federal judge.

Sarah H.

Bio: Sarah is an accomplished attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Utah. She graduated cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where she distinguished herself by winning the Best Brief Award in the prestigious Rex E. Lee Moot Court Competition. Her exceptional oratory skills also earned her a place as an oral arguments quarterfinalist in the same competition. Subsequently, Sarah leveraged her legal writing prowess as a brief writer for her law school’s national moot court team.

In addition to her Juris Doctor degree, Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Global Policy from the University of Texas at Austin, further enriching her multidisciplinary expertise. Her professional experience encompasses the realm of privacy law, including a stint at a prominent social media company.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Sarah enjoys cultivating diverse interests. Her hobbies include reading literature, honing her culinary skills through baking, and indulging her penchant for organization.

Kendra

Bio: Kendra is an appellate litigator who represents detained immigrant adults and children. She graduated from Georgetown Law School with her J.D. and a Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies Certificate. She is licensed to practice in Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third and Fourth Circuits. Liam

Position: Tutor

Bio: Liam graduated summa cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 2023 as his class’s salutatorian. During law school, he was an Articles Editor for the Boston University Law Review, worked as a research assistant, and was an active member of BU’s advocacy programs, including serving as president of BU’s mock trial team and representing BU in the ABA’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition. While at BU, Liam concurrently completed graduate studies in history and has since written on legal history for publications such as the Boston University Law Review and Boston Bar Journal. For his work, he received Dean’s Awards in Contract Law, Administrative Law, and Legal History, recognition as Best Oralist and First Place Advocate in moot court, and BU’s Berger Achievement Prize for overall academic performance.

Liam currently serves as a judicial clerk at the Vermont Supreme Court and will then clerk for the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts. He previously interned for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Kelsey

Bio: Kelsey is an attorney licensed to practice in Ohio. She graduated in 2021 from the University of Akron School of Law in the Top 5% of her class. She was an Editor for the Akron Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and served as a teaching assistant for Real Property. Kelsey received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, 21^st Century Litigation, Family Law, Torts and Legislation and Regulation. She received a cumulative score of 312 on the Ohio UBE.

Kelsey is a mother to three young children, two of whom she had during her first two years of law school. She is a practicing attorney focused in the areas of Real Property, Wills Trusts and Estates, Contracts, and Civil Litigation. In her free time, she serves on the Board of Directors for a public school scholarship foundation and is devoted to the furtherance and advancement of public education.

Bio: Baylee is a licensed attorney in the state of Ohio. She graduated cum laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. While in law school Baylee received CALI awards in Evidence and Sales. Baylee served as a study group leader and senior academic success program leader during her second and third years of law school. She also served on the University of Cincinnati Law Review where she published a Note titled A Covid Silver Lining? How Telework May Be a Reasonable Accommodation After All.

Baylee sat for the July 2023 UBE administered in Ohio and passed with a cumulative score of 343. Baylee enjoys cooking, boating, and spending time with her Great Pyrenees, Elliot.

Venu

Bio: Venu graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center. He was named the Best Oral Advocate in Georgetown’s internal moot court competition his first year and later competed in the National Moot Court Competition. Throughout his time in law school, he worked full-time as a federal law enforcement analyst and currently practices criminal law in New York.

Notable Accomplishments: Prior to attending law school, Venu completed a Presidential Management Fellowship with the United States Federal Government.

She graduated magna cum laude from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in 2020, ranking in the top 5% of her class. During her time at law school, Vanessa served as the Note and Comment Editor for the Pace International Law Review. Additionally, she was a Dean Scholar and an active participant on multiple Mock Trial Teams. In 2020, Vanessa achieved an exceptional score of 317 on the Uniform Bar Exam.

In her leisure time, Vanessa enjoys traveling, engaging in outdoor activities, reading, and spending quality time with her two dogs.
