This past administration, JD Advising worked with top Detroit law firms to help summer associates prepare for the bar exam. Ashley Heidemann from JD Advising presented seminars on the structure of the Michigan Bar Exam and highly tested subjects and issues. The seminars also guided students on how to answer MBE and essay questions on the exam.

Associates also enrolled in JD Advising’s Michigan Essay Course, Michigan Bar Exam Seminar, and purchased JD Advising’s How to Pass the Michigan Bar Exam book.

Wayne Law Purchases JD Advising’s How to Pass the Michigan Bar Exam Book for WSU Law Bar Exam Takers

Wayne State University Law School has purchased JD Advising’s How to Pass the Michigan Bar Exam book for it’s July bar exam takers signed up for JD Advising’s 5-part bar exam preparatory program at WSU.   The five-part program includes graded essay exams, a Michigan Bar Exam seminar, a Multistate Bar Exam seminar, as well as JD Advising’s book. Wayne State University Law students who have copies of the book will be at a distinct advantage when taking the bar exam. The 2017 edition of How to Pass the Michigan Bar Exam book provides all of the following:  

  • secrets for studying smart for the Michigan bar exam,  
  • a step-by-step guide for writing high-scoring Michigan bar exam essays,  
  • a time-tested method to improve your multiple choice (MBE) score,
  • MBE strategies by subject,
  • twenty-four “one-sheets” that condense the most highly-tested areas of law for each of the potential Michigan bar exam essay subjects into one sheet each, and

Ashley Heidemann’s article is titled “The Business of Practicing Law: Targeting Millenials.” The article discusses how law firms and laywers can better tailor their practices in order to reach the millenial generation.  The Michigan bar journal article outlines 7 steps for lawyers and firms to take if they seek to make their businesses more “millenial friendly”.

JD Advising’s Ashley Heidemann, Meagan Jabbori and Klaudia Psari were happy to attend — and sponsor — the Women’s Bar Association – Oakland Region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan’s annual dinner on Thursday, May 11th at 5:30 p.m. at the Birmingham Athletic Club.

The annual dinner honored award winners, the Hon. Elizabeth Pezzetti (ret.), Oakland County Probate Court (winner of the Joan Young Judicial Excellence Award),  Barbara McQuade, University of Michigan Law School, formerly U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan (winner of the Evelyn Forrest Distinguished Advocate Award) and Michelle Shember, University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (winner of the Sarah Killgore Wertman Scholarship).

2017 Edition of “How to Pass the Michigan Bar Exam” Book Now Available!

  • The 24 “one-sheets” in the back of the book are updated to reflect what was tested on Michigan bar exams through February 2017.
  • Michigan bar exam essays, model answers, and student answers for July 2014, February 2015, July 2015, February 2016, and July 2016 are now included in the book.
  • The essay portion has been expanded upon with new and updated essay tips.
  • The multiple-choice portion has increased substantially in length. The book now includes MBE Tips by Subject for each of the seven MBE subjects.
  • New charts and diagrams have been added to reflect Michigan bar exams through February 2017.
  • The book is approximately 300 pages longer than the first edition.

JD Advising Associate Meagan Jabbori Scores in the 96th Percentile on the Uniform Bar Exam

JD Advising associate, Meagan Jabbori, took the Washington bar exam in February 2017. She scored in the 96th percentile overall and in the 99th percentile on the written portion of the bar exam.

Washington administers the Uniform Bar Exam and released February 2017 results today at 8:00 AM PST.

We are very proud of Meagan and her outstanding score! She has helped hundreds of students pass the bar exam in Michigan as well as other jurisdictions. She looks forward to imparting her knowledge and expertise on the Uniform Bar Exam to future students. Read more
