We strongly believe that the best MBE questions are actual released bar exam questions. Why complete questions that are made up by a course when you can get actual questions? We have received some inquiries regarding multistate bar exam results after Pennsylvania released statistics that stated that the average multistate bar exam (MBE) scaled score for the February 2015 bar exam was 136.17. This may seem low, especially after the mean scaled multistate bar exam score for the July 2014 bar exam dropped a few points from 144.3 to 141.5 and caused a stir in the legal community.

However, upon closer inspection, it appears that a score of 136.17 is statistically in line with typical February bar exam results. In the past ten years, the mean scaled score for the February bar exam ranged from 135.7 to 138.6 with the average being 137.37. Read more

How to Improve Your Timing on the Bar Exam

There are students each administration who fail the bar exam because they have to completely guess on the last ten or so multiple-choice questions or they run out of time and have to leave essay answers either incomplete or blank.  You do not want to be one of these students! The last thing you want to do is fail the bar exam because you run out of time.

If you find yourself running out of time when you practice questions, don’t panic. The good news is that time management is a skill that you can perfect before you take the bar exam.  There are a variety of techniques to try. If timing is a problem for you, I recommend you try all of them before the bar exam.

Wondering how to improve your MBE score? Do you keep scoring below average on MBE practice exams?

First of all, that’s okay. We have had many students come to us freaking out and wondering how to improve their MBE score because they score 15-20 points below average on Barbri or Kaplan’s practice exams (that is, answering about 100 questions correctly out of 200). And they still pass the bar exam on their first try. So, it is okay if you’re below average. It does not mean you will fail. Especially since you have over a month to improve your strategy and increase your knowledge of the law.

Second, before you start to insanely try to complete 100 multiple choice questions a day, it is best to figure out why you are answering questions incorrectly.
