September 2018 LSAT Logic Games Prediction
Note: These September 2018 LSAT Logic Games predictions are completely our own. They are based on analyzing trends of previous PrepTests. We do not have any inside information on what is likely to appear on the LSAT!
1. One linear/sequencing game
There is always a linear/sequencing game, so we are going to predict one here as well. PrepTest 84’s linear game, involving flower deliveries, had some elements of old sequencing games. Older sequencing games generally gave you a whole bunch of restrictions (i.e. A is before W,X,Y, and Z) in one rule statement, as opposed to several. While the flower delivery game on Preptest 84 is a linear game, it had these types of throwback rules. Linear games always appear on the LSAT because they are so versatile. Practice these types of games a lot to make sure you are ready for anything LSAC can throw at you!
2. 1 grouping game
We think the September 2018 LSAT will have a grouping game on it. There is usually some sort of grouping game on each LSAT. PrepTest 84 had two grouping games. The first involved nominees for office and required forming an in and an out group, as well as assigning them to a specific role. The other required the taker to figure out which companies offered a 5 or 10-year bond, or both. Although they functioned very differently, they both used similar rules elements. We think one grouping game more like the nominees one will appear on the September 2018 LSAT. We also think a pure grouping game, like the railway system game from Preptest 83, is a strong possibility! These types of grouping games were much more common in older iterations of the LSAT. LSAC loves to recycle old questions, so keep an eye out for one of these!
3. One hybrid game
To recap, a hybrid game is one that included elements of both linear and grouping games. A great recent example is the travel agent game from Preptest 83. In it, you had to figure out what order cities were visited in, as well as placing two of the six cities in an out group. These types of games are very much in vogue with LSAC, so we think another will appear on the September 2018 LSAT.
4. One advanced linear game
A key giveaway that a game is an advanced linear game is that it involves multiple variable sets to order. The architect and project game from PrepTest 84 is a perfect example. We think another one of these games might appear on the September 2018 LSAT. Don’t be surprised if it has a more complicated veneer. The floor cleaning game from PrepTest 83, which tricked many students, was actually just an advanced linear game using numbers instead of variables.
