If you are looking for something different than Barbri or a standard commercial course, you are not alone. Many students are not attracted to the large-group video-recorded lectures, the overwhelming to-do lists, the made-up bar review questions, and the lack of accountability that most standard commercial bar review courses provide.

We offer a JD Advisingcourse tailored to the Uniform Bar Exam and state bar exams, such as Michigan. Our course is different than most standard commercial bar review courses in the following ways:

  • We teach in a small-group setting. Rather than having hundreds of students in a class, we limit it to very few. This means we keep track of each and every student. We will make sure you are on the right path. We will also answer questions and concerns you have throughout bar prep.
  • We teach “live.” Some commercial courses will have you watch prerecorded lectures rather than a live lecture. (Even if you sign up for a “live” lecture, it is often a video that is played live! Check with your course to see what they do.)

  • We give students weekly to do lists. You will know exactly what you have to do each week to pass the bar exam. Rather than feeling lost or behind, you will feel in control of your bar study plan.
  • We provide weekly essay grading. We assign essays and MPTs (if you are in an MPT jurisdiction) and provide feedback on them every single week. We tell you whether you are on track and exactly what you need to improve.
  • We provide all released questions. Many commercial courses do not provide you with released MBE questions. Rather, they write their own. Some students feel extremely stressed out when they walk out of the MBE because they have never seen questions like the ones on the exam! We provide students with all released MBE questions and released essay questions and MPTs!

Note that if price is primarily your concern, all bar review courses are expensive.

However, if you pass they are well worth it. If you fail the bar exam because you opt to go without a course, you will delay getting your license about six months. That means you will miss out on six months of attorney pay. You will also generally have to take time off work if you want to pass it the second time. Not to mention the fact that you will have to explain to potential employers why there is a gap on your resume. Investing in a bar review course to make sure you get it done right the first time is something that will pay off in the end!
