Here, we discuss where to find real MPRE questions—that is, questions that have appeared on past MPRE exams. Many students use questions that are distributed by commercial courses. Students complain that some questions are too hard, others are too easy, and overall they are not representative of what they see in actual MPRE questions.
In this post, we tell you where to find real MPRE questions. As noted above, real MPRE questions are retired MPRE questions that have been distributed on past MPRE exams (but will not be distributed on future exams). They are the most representative of the MPRE questions you will see on test day. Read more

How is the MPRE scored? The MPRE is composed of 60 multiple-choice questions, 50 of which are scored and 10 of which are “test” questions (or unscored). Each jurisdiction is able to set their own passing score, but the range is from 75 to 86. The MPRE is scored differently each administration. Therefore, the raw number of questions you need to get correct to pass changes based upon the exam’s difficulty. However, based upon the data of how the MPRE is scored, the overall numbers do not change much from administration to administration. So, how is the MPRE scored?
The obvious answer to this question is “the rules.” While that may be annoying to read, we encounter SO many students who never read the rules, in any way shape or form, prior to taking the MPRE. Thus, it is worth reminding you that the rules are the most important thing to know!
So, in short, for an MPRE study guide, you need to know the rules to pass. However, not all the rules are created equal. We firmly believe that if you are trying to maximize your time studying prior to the MPRE you should study smarter, not harder. To do this you should get an idea how they test these rules. Next, you should make sure that you review the rules and practice application. If you do these things, you are much more likely to pass the MPRE.
What Is The MPRE Raw Score Needed to Pass the MPRE Exam?
What MPRE raw score do you need to pass the MPRE exam? This is a common question among MPRE takers. The National Conference of Bar Examiners does not release taker’s MPRE raw score, so it is impossible to tell you the precise number of questions you need to answer correctly. However, we hope that the information below will shed some light upon what constitutes a passing score on the MPRE.
How Many MPRE Questions Should I Answer Total Before The MPRE?
How Many MPRE Questions Should I Answer Total Before The MPRE?: One of the most common questions we receive is, “How many MPRE questions should I answer to pass the exam?” This is a loaded question! The short answer is one you probably won’t like–it truly depends. A lot students take the position that they will simply do practice questions for their total exam preparation. Some of those students who take that route actually pass. There are many others, however, that take the exam multiple times before finally receiving that passing score. So, trying to determine the number of MPRE questions you should answer prior to taking the exam is a good idea.
Should I Take the MPRE the Summer After 1L Year?:Now that your first year of law school is completely behind you (yay!), one thing to start thinking about is when to take the professional responsibility exam. The MPRE is offered three times a year: March, August, and November. You have to achieve a passing score on the MPRE before you can receive your law license in most states. (Some states limit the number of times you can take the bar exam without a passing MPRE score. A couple states prohibit you from taking the bar exam at all until you pass the MPRE!)
Passing MPRE scores vary by jurisdiction. In this post, we break down the score needed to pass the MPRE based on the jurisdiction it’s taken in. We also include U.S. territories that require the MPRE.
