Bar Exam Motivational Quotes To Help You Keep Going!
Vincent Van Gogh
“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.” – Vincent Van Gogh.
Self-doubt is an intrinsic part of human existence and should be embraced as a mechanism to achieve. This quote by Vincent Van Gogh exemplifies the fact that you should take every opportunity to silence your self-doubt. We’re sure that on day one of law school you had your doubts about whether you could persevere. Look at you now! You silenced that day one law school doubt by trusting the process and working hard. Let’s do the same thing with any Bar Exam doubts you may be having. You’ve got this.
Christopher Reeve
“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.”- Christopher Reeve.
Your success on the Bar Exam is inevitable. Whether you pass on your first attempt or your fourth attempt, you still passed. We’re sure that when you first started preparing for the Bar Exam, passing may have seemed like an impossible task. With so much material over so many different subject areas, how on earth was passing an option? Like we said above, look at you now. Your hard work, dedication, and preparation have made your success on the Bar Exam inevitable. Compare yourself now to when you first started studying for the Bar Exam and look at how much you have accomplished.
Randy Pausch
“The brick walls are there for a reason…they are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.” – Randy Pausch.
The Bar Exam is definitely a brick wall. A tall, menacing, and cold brick wall. However, like the quote by Randy Pausch states, the Bar Exam is not designed to keep you from becoming an attorney. It is simply the last step you must complete before becoming an attorney. In a sense, the Bar Exam not only tests your knowledge but also your desire to succeed. You are preparing to enter into one of the oldest and most prestigious professions. So go forth and break down the brick wall. You’ll show yourself and everyone rooting for you just how badly you wanted what’s on the other side.
Lou Holtz
“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” – Lou Holtz.
The weight of bar prep courses, materials, assignments, and supplements may seem difficult to manage. Don’t worry – you carried a difficult load in law school, and this is no different. To avoid becoming overwhelmed by the bar prep process make sure to check out some of our other blog posts. Things like creating a schedule, taking time to relax and exercise, and tracking your performance are all hugely beneficial. As Lou Holtz alludes to, carrying the bar prep load is one thing, but carrying the load strategically is another.
Christine Caine
“Sometimes when you’re in a dark place you think you’ve been buried but you’ve actually been planted.” – Christine Caine.
You may feel like the bar prep process is burying you with work, stress, anxiety, and fatigue. First, you’re not alone. Chances are, if you’re feeling this way, hundreds of other students are as well. This quote by Christine Caine is a great way to gain some additional perspective on an otherwise difficult process. Think of yourself as a seed. The bar prep process is the water that is required for you to grow. When you finally sprout up after passing the Bar Exam, you’ll be an attorney. Remember, you are growing right now and it is temporary.
